About Tomita Sensei

Tomita sensei started to practice aikido at the age of twenty. He had the privilege to study for both O-sensei Morihei Ueshiba and Saito sensei as an ushideshi.

Tomita sensei came to be one of Saito senseis foremost students and in 1969 Tomita sensei was offered to move to Sweden to teach aikido. He was 27 years old at the time and he recently had received 4 dan by O-sensei Morihei Ueshiba.

1992 Tomita sensei decided, after consulting Saito sensei who had been his teacher before and after the time in Iwama, to go his own way. Tomita sensei has 8 dan.

Tomita sensei is one of the worlds most respected and foremost aikido masters and he is IMAF:s representant in aikido.
