About Torbjorn

Torbjorn was born in 1970 in Norrkoping. Early in life he became interested in the Japanese martial arts. That resulted in that he in 1984 started to practice aikido. Only three years later he became one of the regular instructors in the dojo. There he taught both childrens and adults classes, on every level, from beginners to the more advanced classes, with weapons as a speciality.

When he in 1985 met Tomita sensei for the first time it made such an impact that he since then chose to study only for him. Early Torbjorn realized that a deeper understanding of aikido only can be achieved trough many years of training with one and the same master. Today Torbjorn has 5 dan and has a close cooperation with Tomita sensei.

During the ninethies aikido in Sweden did undergo a change, that has given after-effects even in the 21 century. For Torbjorn it led to a deeper study for Tomita sensei and he put more effort in his studies and to preserve unique aikido Tomita senseis.

After consulting with his master Torbjorn opened a dojo of his own in 2002 – Aikido Academy.
